Commission member (mover) proposed a motion to spend up to $350 to cover the speaker fee and mileage; Fran Rosenau seconded the motion. Chair Pamela Goodrow called for a voice vote and members approved the expenditure.
The commission reviewed payment logistics supplied by the New Hampshire Humanities and the New Hampshire Historical Society: the speaker fee is $300 and mileage is additional; the invoice directs that a check be made to the New Hampshire Historical Society and be presented at the event rather than mailed. Goodrow said she will instruct the town treasurer not to mail the payment and to bring the check to the program.
The commission also noted that New Hampshire Humanities provides a post-program toolkit and that recording of the presentation is prohibited under the arrangement.
Next step: Goodrow will send the approved minutes and the invoice to the treasurer and confirm delivery instructions so the check is available at the Aug. 5 program.
