Rib Lake board approves raises for election workers, clerk and public works; renews employee health plan

The Village of Rib Lake board approved several compensation changes effective Jan. 1, 2025. Trustee Jones moved and Trustee Marschke seconded a $0.25 per hour raise for election workers; the motion carried. Trustee Budimlija moved and Trustee Tesch seconded a $0.50 per hour raise for the village clerk; the motion carried. Trustee Tesch moved and Trustee Buksa seconded a $0.50 per hour raise for Public Works employees; the motion carried. Trustee Budimlija moved and Trustee Buksa seconded a $0.25 per hour raise for the deputy clerk, groundskeeper and janitor; the motion carried.
The board also accepted the 2025 renewal of Security Health Insurance for eligible employees with a $3,500 deductible.
In department reports trustees and staff noted operational items: storm sewers were cleaned and streets swept; the village received a grant for water tower rehabilitation that will include exterior painting and interior tank work; sludge hauling from the sewer plant occurred and a pump in Digester A required replacement; campground water was turned off for winter and equipment such as the weed harvester and barge were stored; ambulance garage electrical work was completed; the library will celebrate its new accessible door on Nov. 25–27; and public works reported plows and salter are ready for winter.
The board adjourned at 8:00 p.m.; the minutes were signed by Kristin Lueck, village clerk.
