Board permits minor gym height exceedance, deletes obsolete fire ordinance and approves street project administration

The Rib Lake Village Board took several infrastructure and code actions at its Aug. 14 meeting, approving a minor zoning exceedance for a school gym, removing an obsolete ordinance, and contracting administrative services for street projects.

Excel Engineering asked the board to allow a minor height exceedance for the new Rib Lake School District gym. The village’s residential zoning standard caps building height at 35 feet; the proposed gym needs 36.5 feet for appropriate clearances. The board approved the 36.5-foot height (moved by Buksa, seconded by Marschke). Motion carried.

Separately, a review of Ordinance 2.24 (which pertained to a Village Fire Department) found it irrelevant because fire services are provided by a joint commission involving the Village of Rib Lake, the Town of Rib Lake, and the Town of Greenwood. The board voted to delete Ordinance 2.24 from the Village Code Book (Marschke, seconded by Jones). Motion carried.

The board also approved an agreement with MSA for administrative work on 2nd, 3rd, and Church Street (Tesch, seconded by Buksa) and authorized the purchase of a 30-gallon pull-behind sprayer for village lawn work (Buksa, seconded by Jones). Trustee/employee reports noted blacktopping on N. Front St. and North Street, gravel and culvert work planned for Upjohn, and ongoing sewer-plant land-application constraints.

All motions were recorded as "Motion carried" in the minutes; no roll-call tallies or detailed funding sources for future maintenance were provided.
