Rib Lake board approves Ice Age Days street closures, waives open‑container rules and grants event licenses

The board opened two crack‑sealing bids; Jensen Chip & Seal submitted a $10,890 total while a second bid from Thunder Road of Waukesha did not include a total cost. Trustee Tesch moved and Trustee Jones seconded acceptance of Jensen Chip & Seal’s bid; the motion carried.
Trustees also approved Special Class B Picnic Licenses for the Lions Club, the American Legion, the Fish & Game Club and the Fire Department after Trustee Mann moved and Trustee Marschke seconded the motion.
For Ice Age Days (authorized from Aug. 9 at 4:00 p.m. until Aug. 12 at 8:00 a.m.), the board authorized closures of specified segments of McComb Avenue and nearby streets, and approved targeted open‑container waivers for set streets and time windows. Trustee Jones moved to authorize the street closings and Trustee Marschke seconded; Trustee Buksa moved and Trustee Mann seconded the motion to waive the open container law for specified areas and times. The board recorded the motions as carried. The minutes specify operational limits: no alcohol or soda carry‑ins in designated street/area closures, and open containers allowed only on listed streets and for the listed hours (including Saturday daylight hours and specific times for events such as the car show and drag pulls).
Clerk Kristin Lueck’s printed minutes record the full list of individual Temporary Operator License applicants. Trustee Tesch moved and Trustee Buksa seconded to approve the temporary operator applications; the motion carried.
The board recorded these approvals as routine permits required to stage the village celebration and to maintain public order during event hours.
