The Rio Village Board on Sept. 8 adopted three finance-related resolutions and approved invoices during a meeting that lasted roughly 15 minutes.
Trustees unanimously passed Resolution 2025-05, updating the village policy for repayment of special assessments to add that the village will charge interest annually on unpaid balances at a rate equivalent to the most recent Prime rate when the expense is incurred. Trustee Keith Kilen moved the change and Trustee Jon Landsverk seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The board also approved Resolution 2025-06, adopting a Fund Balance Policy, on a Landsverk/Stofflet motion, and approved Resolution 2025-07 to exempt the village from the Columbia County library tax on a Kilen/Husom motion. The meeting minutes record the votes as carried unanimously for each resolution.
Separately, trustees approved the meeting invoices on a Landsverk/Stofflet motion; no dollar totals for the invoices were recorded in the transcript. The board set its next committee meeting for Sept. 15 at 6:00 p.m. and scheduled the next Village Board meeting for Oct. 6 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
The transcript contains no roll-call vote counts or detailed budget line items related to the resolutions; those details were not specified during the meeting.
