The Rio Village Board voted on Oct. 6 to approve applying for a simplified water rate increase, the board’s minutes show. The motion to pursue the rate change was made by Trustee Stan Stofflet and seconded by Trustee Jon Landsverk and was recorded as carrying unanimously.
Public Works brought the item to the board for consideration during the Oct. 6 meeting. No specific dollar amounts or a target effective date for the rate change were recorded in the minutes; the motion authorizes staff to file for the simplified rate increase, not to set the final rate.
The vote followed routine agenda and minutes approvals and other noncontroversial business. The board’s actions were taken at the village hall in Rio, and the meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m.
