Rio Village Board approves seasonal camper permit, hires summer worker and grants operator license

Village President James Olrick called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. Trustees present included Heidi Husom, Keith Kilen, Jon Landsverk, James Stilson and Stan Stofflet. Clerk Amy Stone is recorded as the meeting recorder.
The board unanimously approved the agenda and then unanimously approved minutes from the June 2 Village Board meeting and the June 19 Committee meetings.
On a motion by Trustee Jon Landsverk, seconded by Trustee Stan Stofflet, the board approved a Conditional Use Permit for Mark McGuire for Parcel 75.02 at 230 W Rio Street to park a camper in the driveway from April through the end of October. The permit was approved to be reviewed annually.
Public works director Robert Lang reported hiring Chase England as a part-time summer employee at a rate of $15.00 per hour. Trustee Stan Stofflet moved to approve the hire and Trustee Keith Kilen seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The board considered an operator license application for Amy Nielsen. After reviewing the application, a motion by Trustee Jon Landsverk, seconded by Trustee Keith Kilen, to approve the operator license passed with five yes votes and one no vote.
In finance matters, Trustee Stan Stofflet moved and Trustee Jon Landsverk seconded approval of the submitted invoices; that motion carried unanimously. The board noted upcoming meetings: a committee meeting on July 21 at 6:00 p.m. and the next Village Board meeting on August 4 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
