Rib Lake board approves $2,500 fireworks donation, clerk travel and other routine business

The Rib Lake Village Board on April 9, 2025 accepted the Treasurer's Report and carried several routine motions including a $2,500 donation to support fireworks, authorization to publish an application for a six-month Class B beer license for Tannery Creek Parkway, approval for Clerk Kristin Lueck to attend the League of Wisconsin Municipalities Conference, and renewal of the Lake District Rehabilitation certificate of deposit at the highest available rate. Motions were moved and seconded by trustees as recorded; each motion is recorded in the minutes as "Motion carried."
The Treasurer's Report, accepted by motion of Trustee Jones and seconded by Trustee Marschke, listed fund balances across tax, general, water and sewer accounts with a total reported of $1,578,810.28. The minutes also list March receipts that included R.L. Sewer Utility $12,100.35 and R.L. Water Utility $4,626.72 and vendor payments to entities including the Wisconsin Retirement System and Xcel Energy.
During trustee and employee reports, the Streets committee said it will meet to discuss installing a speed bump in the alley between Pearl Street and McComb Avenue. Public Works will repair bored holes left in sidewalks by a fiber-optic crew. Utilities staff reported that Cody Lind and Jason Rademacher took sewer and water tests on March 26; results were pending and the village is evaluating installation of UV lighting required by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for the new sewer permit. Park, Lake & Rec reported plans to stain picnic tables and consider replacing some fire pits; tree removal on Tannery Lane will be contracted out and the street sweeper is being repaired.
The board moved into closed session under Section 19.85(1)(c) for personnel matters by motion of Trustee Mann, seconded by Trustee Marschke; a roll call vote was taken with all trustees recorded as in favor. The board returned to open session and the minutes record there were no motions arising from closed session. The meeting adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
