At its March 12, 2025 meeting, the Rib Lake Village Board approved a series of routine financial and administrative items and heard department reports.
The board accepted the treasurer’s report showing fund balances including Tax Account $141,115.55 and General Fund $508,422.65; the minutes list total funds of $1,648,450.55. Trustees moved to accept the treasurer’s report as printed (motion by Jones, seconded by Marschke) and also reviewed and accepted lists of general, water, and sewer bills paid in February 2025.
Krista Blomberg of the Rib Lake Public Library asked to replace handles on handicap bathroom doors using an Accessibility Grant; the board approved the work (motion by Tesch, seconded by Budimlija). The board also approved a $6,578.00 quote to install carpeting in the Village Hall boardroom (motion by Tesch, seconded by Marschke). Trustees approved renewing the Contingency CD at the highest available rate (motion by Mann, seconded by Jones) and set Spring Bulk Item Drop Off for May 20–21, from noon to 5 p.m. each day (motion by Marschke, seconded by Jones).
The board reviewed and adopted the first half of Title II, Administration and Personnel, of the Village Code book (motion by Budimlija, seconded by Tesch). The board also approved Resolution 4-2025 supporting reauthorization of state funding for the Knowles‑Nelson Stewardship Program at the Ice Age Trail Alliance's request and later approved a zoning change at 1003 Railroad St. to permit Grandma’s Care LLC to provide childcare services.
Trustee and department reports noted that public works has been steaming frozen culverts, began street sweeping, and deferred start dates for several street projects while keeping the projected finish date; utilities reported the sewer plant had returned to normal and that a midge fly problem had been eradicated. Water tower bids are expected to be issued in coming weeks; public works will install a waterspout on the south side of the village garage to support pavilion users, and Trustee Mann asked that staff check campground firepits for replacement. The board voted to move into closed session under Section 19.85(1)(c) to discuss employee matters; a roll call vote was taken with all in favor. The board returned to open session and recorded no motions arising from the closed session. The meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
