Rib Lake trustees set fall events, approve donation and hear updates on bandshell and community vision

At the Sept. 11 meeting, the Village of Rib Lake board scheduled several community events and approved modest community-support expenditures.
Trustees moved (Jones; seconded by Budimlija) to schedule village Trick-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, from 3 to 6 p.m. The board also approved a large-item drop-off event to run Tuesday, Oct. 22, through Thursday, Oct. 24, from noon to 7 p.m. each day (moved by Marschke; seconded by Tesch). Both motions were recorded as carried.
Trustees voted to waive the open-container law on Oct. 5 for Landall Avenue (McComb to Mill Lane), the Village Park at McComb and Landall, and the village lot at Landall and Mill to allow the saw competition and chainsaw show sponsored by Hanke’s Little Bohemia. The board also approved a $500 donation to the Christmas for Kids group for the event slated for Dec. 7, 2024, at Rib Lake Middle School (moved by Buksa; seconded by Mann).
On projects, Travis Grubbs presented the Rib Lake Vision proposal prepared by Wendal and highlighted items that the Economic Development Foundation might be able to implement. Scot Broman and Laura Deuso updated trustees on the bandshell, reporting that they anticipate beginning some work in September or October 2024. Director of Public Works Cody Lind told the board he will seek options this fall for purchasing a drum roller for street repairs and return with recommendations.
