Austintown board declares dozens of properties nuisances, sets zone-change hearings and raises cemetery fees

The Austintown Township Board of Trustees approved a resolution on June 15 declaring a long list of properties public nuisances, citing high grass, junk and debris, and site obstructions. Zoning Inspector Dominic Moltchan presented the list and the board ordered property owners to abate violations within seven days (or four days for repeat violations) or face township abatement with a minimum expense entry of $500 on the tax duplicate (Resolution #26-06-15-13).
Trustees also scheduled zone-change hearings for cases 2026-01-Z (July 13, 2026) and 2026-02-Z (June 29, 2026) (Resolution #26-06-15-14). Later in the meeting the board approved adjustments to cemetery fees as attached to the resolution (Resolution #26-06-15-24).
The nuisance list named addresses across Austintown and specified violations such as high grass, junk and debris, overgrown vegetation obstructing sites, and trash near porches and driveways. Trustees said the abatement process and potential tax-lien placement are consistent with ORC 505.87 and ordered enforcement timelines to begin from the date of adoption.
