Farmingdale advances North Main pole removals, paving reimbursements and completes EV charging installations

At the March 2 Farmingdale work session, highway and DPW staff reported progress on several infrastructure projects, including utility pole removals, paving reimbursements and electric‑vehicle charging installations.
Officials said the North Main Street Pole Removal Project is underway, poles have been removed, and new water‑main installation and remaining work will be completed in spring with a target completion of the entire project by the end of June 2026. DPW reported it met with National Grid about paving on streets where new mains were installed (Yoakum Avenue, Hillside Road and Fairview Road) and that the village received an agreed‑upon paving reimbursement; paving work will be scheduled in the spring.
Village staff also reported that electric‑vehicle charging stations have been installed and that the project received a grant through PSEG Long Island; a public‑relations photo opportunity was planned for April 2026 once weather permits. Other DPW items included ordering a replacement grate for Moby Way, scheduling piping to connect the Tulane sump to Arthur Street in the spring, and continued snow‑clearing operations.
Trustees did not take formal votes at the work session; staff will schedule paving and complete remaining project tasks as weather and procurement allow.
