The Village of Farmingdale’s Building Department reported multiple permit and project updates during the Board of Trustees work session on Feb. 2.
A permit was issued and the fee paid for a 7‑11 and Sunoco project; the minutes say discussions are underway about demolition permits and an initial plan to remove existing fuel tanks, pumps and canopy. Separately, a hearing on Verizon’s Clock Tower cell‑service installation at Marquis Shopping Center was adjourned to March 2, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., according to meeting notes.
The department said multi‑family and rental property inspections are in progress and that a backlog of open building permits is being addressed for close out. Burgerology is on a payment plan starting Dec. 1, 2025, to resolve a $5,000 overdue balance and has engaged more frequent hood-cleaning service while the Building Department reviews plans relating to grease splatter.
Building Inspector Cinquemani and an architect were reported to be in discussions with McGrath’s over a proposed upstairs expansion for a private party room. The minutes also note that applications for a coffee shop and a chicken restaurant in Marquis Plaza are in the process of obtaining building permits.
No formal vote or permit conditions beyond those listed in the minutes were recorded at the work session. The Verizon hearing date set for March 2 will be the next scheduled public opportunity for comment on that installation.
