The Building Department said a stop‑work order was issued at 195 Main Street after the owner proceeded with façade changes without Planning Board or permit approval; the transcript notes the applicant was scheduled to proceed to the Planning Board on Feb. 24.
Building Inspector Cinquemani and the project architect are in discussions with McGrath’s, which has proposed expanding an upstairs area for a private party room. The department also reported active plan reviews and follow up on nuisance issues, ongoing multi‑family and rental inspections, and investigations into alleged illegal rentals and violations at 485 Main Street.
Staff said applications are in process for a coffee shop and a chicken restaurant in Marquis Plaza Shopping Center. The Board noted two Verizon items: the public hearing for Verizon at Marquis Plaza was deferred until June 2026, and the Verizon clock‑tower cell installation at Marquis Shopping Center was adjourned to June 1, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
No formal votes were recorded on permits or enforcement actions during the work session; enforcement actions such as the stop‑work order are administrative steps the Building Department is pursuing.
