Enumclaw City Council approved Resolution 18-79 on May 26, adopting updates to several fee schedules including Parks program fees, cemetery pricing and an inflation-based adjustment to the school impact fee.
Parks and Recreation Director Alina Hibbs presented two Parks fee proposals, including a lower-cost two-day-a-week swim-team option intended to provide a more affordable choice for participants. Hibbs also described cemetery price adjustments: several infant, cremation garden and alcove niche categories were revised due to increased operational costs and reduced availability; struck-through items in the packet reflected sold-out sections and were removed from the fee table.
Chris (speaker 14) said the fee resolution incorporates an automatic April 1 inflationary adjustment for the school impact fee of 3.1 percent, based on the Consumer Price Index for urban consumers in the Seattle–Tacoma–Bellevue area. Council noted an email from Kyle Fletcher, director of business operations at the school district, expressing concern that the city had not adopted the district’s calculated school impact fee; staff responded the CPI update follows council policy and that the city would evaluate the district’s capital facilities plan once approved by the school board this summer and then consider any deviation from the formula.
Council moved and passed Resolution 18-79.
