Tinicum supervisors authorize volunteer remote participation, adopt semiquincentennial resolution and approve routine administrative items

At its July 7 meeting the Tinicum Township Board approved allowing certain volunteer committee members to participate remotely for good cause, adopted a semiquincentennial resolution with a Lenape land acknowledgment, appointed a resident to the Land Preservation Committee and approved several routine agreements and ordinance re‑advertisement.
The Tinicum Township Board of Supervisors on July 7 approved several administrative and policy items, including a change enabling volunteers on certain advisory bodies to participate remotely upon showing good cause.
By voice vote the board approved a motion to permit remote participation (phone or conference call on speakerphone so the public can hear) for volunteers on the Parks & Recreation Committee, Land Preservation Committee, Historic Commission and the Environmental Advisory Council when good cause is demonstrated. The board instructed committee chairs to ensure the building is open for the public and asked township staff to finalize practical arrangements and volunteer forms recommended by the insurance carrier.
The board unanimously adopted a resolution commemorating the United States’ semiquincentennial that includes a land acknowledgment recognizing Tinicum Township as the traditional land of the Lenape people and affirms the township’s historical significance. The resolution will be posted on the township website.
Other actions approved during the meeting included appointment of Craig DeGroot to the Land Preservation Committee; authorization to execute a stormwater facility maintenance and monitoring agreement for a small project at 84 Red Hill Road (TMP 44-011-089); authorization and ratification to submit a Section 106 consulting‑party response for bridge number 30 (Clay Ridge Road over Beaver Creek) to protect historic values in a county rehabilitation project near the Ridge Valley Historic District; and authorization to re‑advertise amendments to the zoning ordinance to revise the kennel definition consistent with recommendations from the Bucks County Planning Commission. The board also directed the township manager to continue coordinating groundwater-ordinance review meetings with the planning commission and township engineer and to report back with dates for continued discussion in August–October.
All routine motions on the consent agenda (minutes, May treasurer’s report, June payroll and month-end disbursements) were approved by voice vote. Several supervisors used their closing remarks to thank public‑works and police staff for recent work and to remind residents about fireworks safety before adjourning.
