The Newaygo Community Recreation Authority on March 12 approved its fiscal year 2026-27 budget, adopting a plan that estimates $40,671 in revenue against $46,400 in expenses.
Chair Jennifer Badgero moved to adopt the budget and Erik Larsen seconded; the motion carried by unanimous voice vote. Jon Schneider noted that amendments approved at the authority’s February meeting are not yet reflected in the current financial statements because one participating jurisdiction has not completed its approvals.
The budget vote followed routine financial review and earlier motions to approve the prior meeting minutes and the current month’s financials. The board did not change the budget at the meeting; members indicated they will continue local coordination with jurisdictions that have outstanding approvals.
Next steps for the authority include implementing the adopted spending plan for the coming year and tracking the outstanding jurisdictional approvals so that the February amendments can be reflected in future financial reports.
