Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority rate changes affecting Montague take effect Dec. 1

Mayor Zitone informed the Committee that the Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority adopted its FY2026 rate schedule on Nov. 26, 2025, effective Dec. 1, 2025. The changes affecting Montague Township include a Solid Waste ID10 rate of $110 per ton (ID13 remains $125), a bulk tire disposal rate increase from $125 to $375 per ton, and a $10 surcharge for appliances that require Freon removal. The minimum truck scale user charge remains $10, and bagged garbage disposal at the Resident’s Convenience Center remains $0.15 per pound with a $0.50 minimum.
The Committee received the rate schedule as informational; no township action was taken at the meeting.
