Plant superintendent reports control-panel, pump and painting work; one wastewater role open

Jason Ingram, water pollution control facility superintendent, told the board July 8 that electricians will rewire and replace terminal blocks for roughly 75% of the plant’s lift-station control panels because of age, and that plant crews have been painting pipes and pumps over the winter and will soon paint outside concrete walls of clarifiers and digesters.
Ingram said Jake's Creek lift-station replacement pumps will be delivered at the end of the month and the plant is pricing the install now with a likely installation window in late summer or early fall; when Commissioner Selvey asked how long a pump-cell replacement might take, Ingram said it depends on conditions, they will use bypass pumping, and he expects "maybe a couple weeks" to complete the work when weather cooperates. Ingram also said the plant currently has one wastewater position open.
Chair thanked Ingram and his staff for the plant’s operations and noted the plant has received awards, praising management and the newer staff who are learning roles.
