River Ridge committee approves NEOLA policy updates, forwards changes to full school board
Summary
The River Ridge School District Policy and Curriculum Committee on March 31 approved NEOLA Volume 35 policy updates and NEOLA EDGAR policy changes (packet pages 25–102) and will forward both sets to the full school board; the minutes note an apparent inconsistency in the recorded notice date.

The River Ridge School District Policy and Curriculum Committee approved two sets of NEOLA policy updates at a meeting March 31 in the superintendent’s office and agreed to forward both sets to the full school board for consideration.
Josh Copsey, chair of the Policy and Curriculum Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:58 p.m. Committee members present were Megan Kussmaul and Tara Adams. Superintendent Clay Koenig attended. The meeting was held at 11165 County Hwy P, Patch Grove, WI.
Committee member Megan Kussmaul stated that public notice had been given; the minutes record the notice date as Aug. 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. That date postdates the March 31 meeting and appears inconsistent with the recorded meeting date. The committee recorded no public appearances and approved the minutes of the Aug. 13, 2025 meeting with no changes.
Under new business the committee reviewed NEOLA Volume 35, Number 1 (listed in the committee packet on pages 25–102) and approved all listed policy updates, including the technical corrections noted in the packet. The committee separately reviewed the NEOLA EDGAR policies and approved the changes as presented. The committee recorded that both sets will be taken to the full River Ridge School Board for approval at a later meeting; no mover/second or roll-call votes for these approvals are recorded in the committee minutes.
Members suggested that the next NEOLA update be placed on a future agenda. The meeting adjourned at 5:56 p.m. after a motion to adjourn by committee member Megan Kussmaul, seconded by committee member Tara Adams; the motion carried on a voice vote.
Next procedural steps: both NEOLA packages will be included in materials for a future full-board meeting; the committee’s next meeting date was not set in the minutes.
