The Newaygo City Planning Commission on April 9 approved a land split application for 354 S State St, a parcel owned by Brookeside Properties LLC.
City Manager Jon Schneider explained the applicant proposes to reconfigure two existing lots that currently run north–south so they will run east–west and both front State Street. One of the existing lots already has a house facing State Street; the split would allow construction of a new house on the second lot. Schneider said the survey in the packet showed the change would not violate setback requirements and that the split required review because it changes plat lines.
Commissioners moved to approve the land split; the motion carried AIF/MC.
The minutes record no conditions attached to the approval and no additional public comment on the item. Any required permitting or building approvals would be handled through the city’s normal review process.
