Key votes at the meeting included approval of claims totaling $3,990,786.51; awarding two vehicle bids; hiring Katina Duke and Jacoby Moore as corrections officers and Pearson Caswell as a deputy sheriff; approving merit increases; updating multiple job descriptions; promoting Alex Boyd to senior activities supervisor and transferring Heidi Stinnett to senior services supervisor. The commission also amended the National Purchasing Cooperative/Buy Board, approved a 12-month Wolfco Media contract for $28,800 (retroactive to July 1) and approved three budget revisions listed on the agenda.
County Engineer Mark presented Creekside Park Subdivision (a replat of Track 1 in Creekside Park Phase 3) for preliminary and final approval affecting one lot in District 3; the commission approved the subdivision unanimously. The board approved routine disposition actions including removing two items from inventory and authorizing an item to be listed on GovDeals.
All recorded motions in these items were moved, seconded and carried without recorded dissent. Chair announced Judge Woodruff would present an appropriations request after the meeting but no action was expected at that time. The commission set its next meeting for July 20 at 9 a.m.
