Rockland trustees list TIF priorities, approve tree removal and staff pay increase

At its April 8 meeting the Village of Rockland board recorded a set of proposed TIF-funded projects and approved several routine measures. The board listed potential TIF expenditures to be decided at the April 22 meeting, including well updates and repairs; streets and infrastructure work in Hummingbird Heights and on Ondell and Campbell streets; implementation of recommendations from MSA’s water and sewer study; and park maintenance and improvements.
Trustee Bob Rueckheim moved and Trustee Bob Nielsen seconded approval of a $3,500 quote to remove a rotten tree located on Village property behind a house on Oak Street. The homeowner agreed to contribute $1,000 toward the cost; the motion carried.
Trustee Linda Young moved and Trustee Bob Rueckheim seconded approval of a $1.00-per-hour pay increase for Public Works employee Keegan Erickson; the board approved the raise. The board also recorded a $4,000 donation from Rockland Flooring to support Rockland Day fireworks and noted that the fireworks permit had been issued.
