Rockdale board to submit flood‑plain ordinance draft to DNR; appoints Fire & EMS representative and approves routine financials

The Village of Rockdale Board agreed on Nov. 17 to submit a final draft of a new flood‑plain ordinance to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and approved a slate of routine administrative actions.
Alicia Hynes, Village Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. and led the board through a short agenda that included the proposed ordinance, several intergovernmental items and standard financial approvals.
Breah Klemp, Village Board member, said she will send the final draft of the village’s flood‑plain ordinance to Clerk‑Treasurer Ann Gerlich for formal submittal to the DNR. The board did not adopt the ordinance at the meeting; Klemp’s comment indicates the next procedural step is submission for DNR review.
The board also handled appointments and intergovernmental business. President Alicia Hynes moved to appoint Breah Klemp as the Village’s Fire & EMS Commission representative for the commission meeting scheduled for Nov. 19, 2025; Joe Leto seconded the motion, which carried 4‑0. The board considered the Village of Rockdale’s status with the Cambridge & EMS Commission but tabled that item for later consideration.
On routine financial business the board unanimously approved the draft minutes of Oct. 20, 2025; approved the Treasurer’s Reports and bills; accepted the General Village bank reconciliations; approved the Sewer Clerk report and bills; and accepted the Sewer bank reconciliations. Each of those motions carried 4‑0.
Other items on the agenda included a General Engineering October report (one permit issued in October), a police report noting one ticket issued in October, and a Sewer Commission update that an agreement remains pending signature by the Village of Cambridge. Board members also noted the next Fire Commission meeting will take place at the CVFD at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2025.
The meeting adjourned at 7:46 p.m. after the board completed its scheduled approvals; Clerk‑Treasurer Ann E. Gerlich signed the record.
