Marthasville aldermen adopt parking and salary ordinances, approve $5,350 snow blade purchase

The Marthasville Board of Aldermen unanimously adopted two ordinances and approved a snow-removal equipment purchase at its Jan. 15, 2025 regular meeting.

Bill #463, "An ordinance approving certain parking restrictions and yield signs," was moved for first and second readings by Alderman Meyer and seconded by Alderman DeVore; Mayor David Lange performed both readings and the Board adopted the measure by roll call, 4-0, as Ordinance #463. The ordinance establishes new parking restrictions and the placement of yield signs (details of exact streets and sign locations were described in the bill text but not read into the minutes).

Bill #464, "An ordinance approving salaries for aldermen and mayor," likewise received first and second readings after a motion by Alderman Meyer and a second from Alderman Dixon; the Board adopted Bill #464 by roll call, 4-0, making it Ordinance #464.

On a separate vote, the Board approved the purchase of a Jenkins 8' Hydraulic Angle Snow Blade from CSR Truck & Equipment Sales for $5,350. Mayor Lange presented two options; Alderman Meyer moved to purchase the Jenkins blade and Alderman Dixon seconded. The motion passed 4-0.

The Board also approved the December 2024 monthly bills and financial reports earlier in the meeting by a 4-0 vote following a motion from Alderman Meyer and a second from Alderman Lange.
