At the Nov. 26 meeting, Mayor David Lange requested a motion to close the public session and convene an executive session under Section 610.022 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri. The motion cited three clauses: (1) legal actions and communications with the city attorney, (2) leasing, purchasing or sale of real estate, and (3) hiring, firing, discipline and promotion of city employees.
Alderman Meyer moved to enter executive session and Alderman DeVore seconded. The board recorded a roll-call vote of "aye" from the aldermen present and the motion passed 3-0. The public meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m., the board recessed for five minutes and then entered executive session; the minutes do not record the subject matter discussed during that closed session.
