Boonsboro — The Boonsboro Mayor and Council handled a slate of routine and administrative items during its Dec. 9 regular meeting, approving minutes, financial reporting and several procurement and personnel actions.
Motions recorded as carried in the minutes include:
- Approval of the Nov. 12, 2024 regular meeting minutes (motion by Council Member Marilee Kerns; second by Council Member Ricky Weaver).
- Approval of the Nov. 2024 Treasurer’s Report (motion by Council Member Marilee Kerns; second by Council Member Ray Hanson).
- Acceptance of the 2024–2025 snow-removal bid from Botanica Enterprise, Inc. on Public Works Superintendent Greg Huntsberry’s recommendation (motion by Council Member Eric Kitchen; second by Council Member Ricky Weaver).
- Reappointment of Carol Long, Sara Sweeney, Darrell Jones, Linda Moser, Natalie Mose and Scott Race to three-year terms on the Board of Zoning Appeals (motion by Council Member Ray Hanson; second by Council Member Terri Hollingshead).
- Approval of Town Employees’ Christmas bonuses under the Personnel Committee’s recommended revision (move 5-year tier to $250 plus $10 per additional year until the 10-year cap); Town Manager Rachel Souders noted the town budgeted $7,000 for Employee Appreciation and that the proposed total for this year’s bonuses is $4,150 (motion by Council Member Ray Hanson; second by Council Member Terri Hollingshead).
- Appointment of Jacqueline Piro to the Planning Commission for a five-year term ending Dec. 2029 (motion by Council Member Eric Kitchen; second by Council Member Terri Hollingshead).
