At the Aug. 12 Boonsboro Mayor and Council meeting, Anthony Crampton, speaking for Fletcher’s Grove residents, asked the town to add striping and turn lanes on Tiger Way and to pursue a dedicated left-turn signal at the Chase Six Boulevard–Main Street intersection.
Crampton told the council residents are concerned that traffic sometimes backs up past Tiger Way and that school-related traffic will worsen when Chase Six Boulevard connects to Maple Avenue. He asked the town to contact the State Highway Administration (SHA) about the signal and consider infrastructure changes including a dedicated left-turn lane into the existing commercial area off Tiger Way and dedicated left/right lanes where Tiger Way meets Chase Six Boulevard.
Residents also asked the council to consider measures to reduce speeding along the new route, citing concern that Chase Six Boulevard could attract cut-through traffic; suggestions included speed bumps or speed cameras. Townhome residents raised questions about which services the town provides for their development — road and drainage maintenance, snow removal and curb painting — and whether snow plowing could be added despite a Development Agreement assigning plowing to the Fletcher’s Grove HOA. Council Member Marilee Kerns said adding town plowing would require a public hearing.
The council did not adopt changes at the meeting. Council Member Kerns asked that Fletcher’s Grove requests be added to the agenda for the August 26 workshop for further discussion and that staff consult with SHA as appropriate. The agenda item will return for additional review and any formal proposals will require subsequent public hearings or staff recommendations.
