Warrens board puts water tower repainting on April agenda and advances planning/zoning updates

Members of the Village of Warrens Board of Trustees discussed several infrastructure and planning matters during their March 11 meeting, directing staff to pursue estimates and ordinance updates and scheduling a financing decision for the water tower repainting at the April meeting.
Department of Public Works supervisor Brian reported the annual water supply inspection and said he is seeking a quote to insulate water pipes on Colton Court. The board discussed repainting the village water tower and various financing options; though the topic was not on the printed agenda, trustees agreed to add it to the April agenda for a formal decision.
On planning and zoning, Terri and Alana reported that the Planning Commission is updating village ordinances. The commission needs to create required boards and to specifically identify new R3 and R4 residential zones for rezoning. The board also directed staff to modify the sign permit application and the annexation form to better meet village needs. Clerk Tonna Claussen said she would contact GEC, the village inspector, about unsafe steps at the Three Bears parcel (parcel 185-00390-5074). Jason K. will reach out to Monroe County to explore transferring a small parcel (185-01455-0115) to the village for upkeep.
The board did not make final zoning decisions at this meeting but recorded assignments and asked for follow-up reports and documentation at future meetings.
