The Village of Warrens Board of Trustees met March 11, 2025, at Village Hall and approved a series of routine motions including beverage operator licenses, a tobacco license and the transfer and payment of bills. The meeting also recorded follow-up tasks on water infrastructure and zoning work.
The board carried motions to approve the meeting agenda (motion by A. Werner, second by T. Swope) and the minutes from Feb. 11, 2025 (motion by T. Swope, second by J. Krultz). It then heard two public comments: Patrick Hardiman said he is interested in constructing a pole shed and was told how to submit a variance request, and a poll worker identified as Vicki asked when voting-equipment testing will occur; Clerk Tonna Claussen said testing is scheduled for March 25 at 9:00 a.m.
Votes at a glance • Beverage operator licenses approved: Robin Amundson, Anthony Larson, Amy Billiard, Jennifer Faber and Narendra Patel (motion: T. Swope; second: A. Werner). The motion carried. • Tobacco license approved: Three Bears Resort (motion: A. Werner; second: P. Malinger). The motion carried. • Transfer and payment of bills approved (motion: T. Swope; second: P. Malinger). The motion carried.
Other procedural votes included the board’s decision to adopt a new payment network for online utility billing (see related article) and routine administrative approvals. The board recorded that it did not convene a closed session; the minutes note the statutory authority referenced for a potential closed session was Wis. Stat. § 19.85(1)(c) (personnel), but no closed session occurred. The meeting adjourned at 9:33 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for April 8, 2025.
