The Village of Warrens Board of Trustees reviewed a package of proposed ordinance changes during a working session on April 22, 2025. Trustees examined drafts to create a Board of Review, add R-3 and R-4 zoning districts, rezone a parcel from Commercial Recreation to Business District, update fees for alcohol and cabaret licenses, and amend rules for transient merchants, direct sellers and large-scale events.
Clerk Tonna Claussen presented the list of ordinance items and noted edits that must be added to the drafts’ back pages and within sections discussed by the board. The board did not take final action; members asked staff to incorporate the changes and circulate revised draft language for review prior to the next regular meeting.
On zoning, staff member Alana told the trustees she would add new fence language to the end of the zoning ordinance draft for board review. The board flagged the fence provision for closer review at the subsequent meeting, indicating specific language and placement will be addressed when the revised draft is returned.
No formal votes were recorded on ordinance adoptions at the working session. The discussion was procedural: trustees identified areas for revision and deferred final approval to a future meeting once staff incorporates the edits.
