Walworth hires Sentry Mapping for cemetery GPR work at $16,600

The Walworth Town Board voted June 18 to hire Sentry Mapping to perform ground-penetrating radar and digital mapping services for town-owned cemeteries at a contract price of $16,600.
The town solicited three competitive proposals: Sentry Mapping ($16,600), GeoModel, Inc. ($19,800) and ViaVista Mapping ($28,375). After review of scope, technology and pricing, the board determined Sentry offered the best value for the town’s cemetery management needs.
Town Clerk Nadine Seppeler had earlier told the board the Cemetery Committee discussed an upcoming headstone-cleaning class and the GPR project; she said the committee planned outreach at the July Festival in the Park and expected final project approval at the June 18 meeting. The board formally authorized the Supervisor to sign the professional services agreement; the cost will be charged to AA.00.1410.485 Records Mgmt - from reserve.
The contract is intended to update records and locate unmarked burials through GPR and digital mapping technology. The board's approval follows procurement procedures and a comparative review of vendor proposals. The Town Clerk’s office will retain the final executed agreement and vendor proposals for public record.
