Board waives pavilion fee for Pumpkin Vine Trail Coalition rest stop on Sept. 12 ride

Josh Robison, project coordinator for the Pumpkin Vine Trails Coalition, told the board the coalition wants to use the Studebaker Park pavilion as a support and rest stop for the annual Pumpkin Vine Classic fundraising ride on Sept. 12. "We're bringing riders into Elkhart, because what we're trying to do as a coalition is showcase Elkhart's connection to the greater network," Robison said.
Staff confirmed the coalition had already received a permit and that the requested waiver was an item the coalition had forgotten to ask about during its initial permit approval. "We did already approve their permit for this event as well," said Brianna Pigeon, office manager.
A board member moved to waive the pavilion fee for the coalition on Sept. 12; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
The board noted strong local outreach—yard signs and increased registration—and recorded the fee waiver as a routine support for a community fundraising ride.
