Jasper County supervisors approve FY2025–26 budget amendment, appropriations and open-meeting designation
Summary
The Jasper County Board of Supervisors on June 30 unanimously adopted Resolution 26-44 approving a FY2025–2026 budget amendment and Resolution 26-45 approving related appropriations, and adopted Resolution 26-46 implementing meeting-agenda designation consistent with House File 2490. Routine claims and minutes were also approved.
The Jasper County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on June 30 to adopt a budget amendment for fiscal year 2025–26 and to approve the related appropriations. Supervisor Talsma moved to adopt Resolution 26-44 approving the budget amendment, and Supervisor Cupples seconded; the motion passed with YEA votes recorded for Cupples, Talsma and Nearmyer. The Board then adopted Resolution 26-45 to approve the appropriation for the amendment.
The Board also adopted Resolution 26-46, described in the meeting as implementing meeting-agenda designation areas in keeping with House File 2490 concerning open records and open meetings. Meeting minutes state that a complete copy of each adopted resolution is on file in the Jasper County Auditor's office.
In the same session the Board approved claims paid through June 30, 2026, and approved regular and special meeting minutes (including a June 23, 2026 special meeting on an employee evaluation). All routine motions carried by unanimous vote with YEA votes recorded as Cupples, Talsma and Nearmyer.
The Board recessed for a work session and later returned to conduct an employee evaluation and other business before adjourning. The Auditor’s office holds complete copies of the resolutions referenced in the minutes.
