Waldo Utility Board approves manhole repair, vouchers and hears generator, equipment updates

President Gary Dekker called the Waldo Water & Sewer Utility Board to order at 7:16 p.m. on March 10. The board approved the minutes from its Feb. 10 meeting and took up routine business, including authorizing a manhole repair and approving payments and the treasurer’s report.
In a roll-call motion, Trustee Dennis Reinemann moved to approve the Feb. 10 minutes; Trustee Jerome Hammarlund seconded and the motion carried. The board then approved a quote from Great Lakes TV Seal to repair a manhole on Highway 57 after Trustee Steve Bunnow moved for approval and Trustee Jerome Hammarlund seconded.
During its operations report, staff reported that all effluent parameters met permit limits after adding water to the head end of the septic tanks and that phosphorus concentrations remain below effluent limits. The minutes note that a new effluent sampler controller has been installed and that the sewer will be televised under the railroad tracks once new crossings are installed. Staff also reported that the injector in the chlorine room is not working and that infiltration and inflow have remained low since recent sewer-main repairs near the millpond.
The board was informed of a problem with the wastewater treatment plant generator: clips fell off the main board, causing a short and fault conditions. The minutes say the circuit board may be damaged. Department of Public Works staff also expressed interest in constructing or purchasing a protective enclosure for the outside influent sampler to protect it from cold weather.
The board approved payment of vouchers 9342–9351 in the amount of $23,528.93; the meeting minutes record that the motion carried. The minutes list the mover text as "Trustee Hammarlund Bunnow," which appears to be a typographical error; Trustee Mike Hintz is recorded as the seconder. Trustee Dennis Reinemann moved to approve February’s treasurer’s report; Trustee Jerome Hammarlund seconded and the motion carried.
There was no correspondence, no public comment, and no board updates recorded. Trustee Mike Hintz moved to adjourn at 7:40 p.m.; Trustee Steve Bunnow seconded and the meeting was adjourned.
