The North Charleston City Council on April 9 gave final approval to two ordinances authorizing the mayor or the mayor’s designee to execute documents granting easements to utility entities.
The first ordinance authorizes an easement to Dominion Energy covering property identified in the ordinance as TMS number 46608, Parcel 504 at the Gethsemane Community Center. A motion to approve was recorded as moved by speaker 4 and seconded by speaker 1; the clerk conducted a roll-call vote in which each named member was recorded as "Aye." The roll-call sequence in the transcript records 11 "Aye" votes.
The second ordinance authorizes an easement to the North Charleston Sewer District for property identified as TMS number 472, Parcel 14 at the Public Works Facility. That ordinance also passed on a roll-call vote recorded as unanimous in the transcript (11 "Aye" votes recorded).
Both measures were presented as final readings; the transcript includes the ordinance descriptions but does not provide ordinance numbers or additional project specifics such as parcel easement dimensions, compensation, or associated agreements. No amendments or recorded dissent appeared in the meeting transcript.
Following the votes, the meeting moved on to public comment and other agenda items before adjourning.
