Alderman Clint Sollars moved to place the ordinance on its first reading by title only; Alderman Amy Justus seconded and the minutes record roll-call votes of Justus, Sollars and Larry Zieber as "yes," carrying the motion. Later in the meeting Alderman Larry Zieber moved to place the ordinance on its second and final reading by title only; Justus seconded and the same three members voted "yes," adopting the ordinance. Alderman Harwood was absent.
The ordinance is recorded in the minutes as "AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO BRIGHTSPEED OF EAST MISSOURI, LLC TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF MAYSVILLE, MISSOURI" (Ordinance No. 2024-16).
