The North Charleston City Council approved a set of consent items (items 5–11) by title without objection. Highlights include authorization for the mayor or designee to execute an agreement with HNTB Corporation for a planning and environmental (PEL) study of eliminating the Durant Avenue railroad crossing in an amount not to exceed $1,175,000; certification of 1914 Reynolds Avenue as an abandoned building under the South Carolina Abandoned Buildings Revitalization Act; adoption of the City of North Charleston Watershed Master Plan; and authorization to purchase replacement generators and a Watertronics pump station for the Westcott golf course in the amount of $359,888.16.
The clerk called the roll on the consent items and members recorded affirmative votes. The council also approved a request to install speed humps on Fernwood Drive (SCDOT road) in Council District 3.
Most consent items were presented as routine purchases, studies or administrative certifications and will proceed under the usual contracting and implementation processes identified by city departments.
