Commissioners pressed staff about outreach to residents who do not use email or are not in recognized neighborhood councils. In response, the staff member said the planning team will place materials at city facilities and senior centers, use faith‑based networks and the newly formed faith leadership council to reach congregations, and provide printed flyers that commissioners can distribute.
The staff member also noted the city has promoted the initiative in local media and aims to post meeting dates and sign‑up forms on the project website when those details are finalized. The commission did not take a formal vote on the UDO update at the meeting; staff described this as an informational update and outreach planning step in the code rewrite process.
