Stephanie Williams sworn in as Caswell County clerk; Caroline Markham named senior services director

The Caswell County Board of Commissioners appointed Stephanie Williams as clerk to the board on July 6, retroactive to July 1. County staff described Williams as having served as deputy clerk since Nov. 10, 2025 and having performed clerk duties since the prior clerk’s departure in February 2026. Commissioner Ingram moved to appoint Williams; the motion carried unanimously and Williams was sworn in at the podium.
Manager Melissa Williamson also announced personnel updates: Caroline Markham will become Caswell County’s senior services director effective July 15, 2026; Markham is a lifelong resident with more than 34 years of experience serving older adults and vulnerable populations. The manager said veterans services will begin July 21 at the Caswell Senior Center with office hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and staff will share required documents and outreach information online.
