Perry City Council approves ordinance and zoning amendments and renews workers' compensation policy

PERRY — The Perry City Council on June 18 approved three routine items: an ordinance amendment affecting licensing procedures, a zoning amendment governing marihuana provisioning centers and a workers compensation renewal for the coming year.
In the meeting at the Perry Community Building, Mayor Pro-Tem Larry Lambert moved to approve Ordinance Amendment 408 (Ch. 860, Sec. 860.6, "Requirement and Procedure for Issuing License"); Councilmember Kamal Ghazi seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously to adopt the amendment. Lambert then moved to approve Zoning Ordinance Amendment 409 (Sec. 3.31, Marihuana Provisioning Center/Retailer, subsection (b)); Councilmember Bob Porter seconded and the council approved the zoning change, also unanimously. Earlier in the meeting Councilmember Mike Connell moved and Councilmember Bob Porter seconded approval of the bills as presented.
The council also approved renewal of the municipality's workers compensation coverage through MML in the amount of $15,281.00 for the policy period shown on the renewal form. Councilmember Mike Connell moved the renewal; Kamal Ghazi seconded and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
