Lysander planning board approves Angry Pig controlled site use with lighting and sewer conditions

The Town of Lysander Planning Board on June 11 approved a Controlled Site Use application for the Angry Pig restaurant at 2935 Lamson Road, subject to conditions requiring submission of an exterior lighting plan and completion of sewer hookup work.
Joshua Reynolds, the applicant, told the board that the previously approved parking variance better reflects the restaurant’s intended use. Town Engineer Al Yager reviewed the site plan and told the board the proposal is consistent with variances granted by the Zoning Board of Appeals and with the Neighborhood Residential Business District zoning requirements. In remarks entered into the record, Yager recommended conditioning Planning Board approval on receipt of a site lighting plan.
The board noted the ZBA had reduced the required parking from 84 spaces to 50. Members also said occasional outdoor activities such as trivia nights are permitted but that permanent or amplified outdoor sound would require Planning Board approval.
The Onondaga County Planning Board’s comments, made part of the record, urged the applicant and Town to coordinate with county Water Environment Protection and Health departments on wastewater service and approvals prior to any expansion of service. The county review also encouraged the town and applicant to consider buffers or limits to address potential noise and odor impacts should concerts or extensive outdoor cooking be hosted on the site.
The board adopted Resolution #2 (motion by Chairman John Corey; second by Matt Hunt), approving Joshua Reynolds/Angry Pig’s Controlled Site Use (Case No. 2026-0003) for property at 2935 Lamson Road (Tax Map No. 022.-01-10.0), conditioned on: (1) submission of an external lighting plan; and (2) completion of sewer hookup. The vote was 4-0.
Reynolds thanked the board after the vote. The approval notes that any future exterior speakers or permanent amplified outdoor sound would require a new Controlled Site Use application and further Planning Board review.
