Jackson County commissioners approve expansion of Eagle Point urban growth boundary

Commissioner Randy Sparacino seconded the motion; Commissioners Roberts, Sparacino and Chair Rick Dyer voted aye.
Before the public hearing opened, Ted Zuk, director of the Jackson County Development Services Department, noted the county had received an email from the City of Eagle Point (listed as Submission No. 1) asking that the hearing not be held that day. Commissioner Dyer asked if anyone had questions for planning staff; none were raised. The hearing was opened at 1:34 p.m., no one indicated a wish to speak, and it was closed at 1:34 p.m.
Deputy County Counsel Pete Philbrick read the required admonishments and stated there were no conflicts of interest or ex parte contacts; he also read Section 213.07, Rules for the Conduct of Public Hearings, of the Codified Ordinances of Jackson County. Planning staff listed on the record included Kristen Maze, Planning Manager, and Charles Bennett, Planner III; Alycia Hartley served as recording secretary.
The ordinance implements a boundary amendment for the applicant, Eagle Point Bigham Development LLC. The record lists the ordinance as being considered under the authority of Oregon Senate Bill 1537 (2024). The meeting adjourned at 1:36 p.m.
