Liberty County School Board approves routine contracts and personnel, tables nurse-services agreement

The chair opened the meeting and the board approved the meeting agenda and a revised personnel list that added Nikki Thall, Zoe Price, Jasper Rudd, lunchroom manager Abby Fletcher and lunchroom worker Jessica Miller. The board also approved a contract described in the agenda as coming from the County Sheriff’s Office with start dates referenced in June 2026.
The board approved a contract agreement with Optum Behavior Support Corporation for the 2026–27 fiscal year and separately approved a service agreement with Florida State University for the same year. It also approved renewal of the FSBA board-docs license for 2026–27 and a mentor-teaching advertisement for a position paid from Title IV funds (up to 30 hours per semester, with specific placements noted).
A motion to approve a proposed 2026–27 agreement between the Liberty County School District and the Department of Health for registered-nurse services was put on the floor, but a board member asked to table the item. "Can we table this to our July meeting? I've got one thing I have a little hang on working with DanCare on," said Mister Kelly, a board member. The board voted to table the agreement to the July meeting.
Other routine items, including approval of the meeting agenda and disposition leads, were carried without recorded objection. The board adjourned after brief member remarks.
What happens next: The registered-nurse services agreement remains on the agenda pending staff follow-up with DanCare; other approved contracts will proceed as scheduled for the 2026–27 year.
