Resident urges HCDA to address safety, traffic and park security in Kakaʻako area

The resident, recorded in the sign‑in as Michelle Opitec, said she lives on Waimanu and asked the authority to consider a traffic survey for Queen and Waimanu streets, citing frequent speeding toward Ala Moana Shopping Center and safety risks for children. She said she had recorded a person damaging trees in Kolowalow Park and that, when she called the Honolulu Police Department, she was told officers could not take action and that "HCDA has to report it." She asked for stronger security enforcement, the ability for security to cite or trespass individuals who violate park rules, and said neighbors would sign a petition.
