Board approves routine fiscal and personnel items, accepts donated Baldwin piano

At its July 7 meeting the Huntington Union Free School District Board of Education approved a series of routine fiscal and personnel items and accepted a donation to the music program.
On recommendation of the superintendent, the board approved the minutes from June 8, accepted the May 2026 treasurer's report, and approved warrants certified for payment on June 17 and June 30. The chair called for motions and the items were approved by voice vote; when the chair asked “All in favor?” the response was “That's everyone.”
Doctor Harris presented superintendent-recommended personnel items on multiple schedules (listed in the transcript as schedules 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19 and 22). The board approved those personnel items by motion and voice vote. The meeting announced several hires and appointments: Donna Nugent was named chairperson of special education; Megan Larkin was appointed as a probationary elementary teacher at Washington Primary School; and Ana Luna Mancilla, a Huntington High School alumna, was appointed as school psychologist at Huntington High School.
The board also accepted a donation to the music department: the transcript records a request to accept a Baldwin upright piano from “Nicholas Manadomena (or Domini)” with an estimated value of $1,500; the board received the donation and speakers thanked the donor.
