Max Weeks, who took over publication duties, told the committee that session laws have been published online and that a physical session-law publication will be available within weeks. He said the office has requested 150 physical copies for distribution, matching last year’s print run. He also said the RCW base updates are expected online by the end of next month, with physical sets to follow around the end of August.
On budget matters, committee members were told the publications account has a balance of about $870,000 with roughly $70,000 in recent revenues, while the office’s main account had about $1,400,000 remaining to spend and a projected return of about $600,000 at fiscal year end. Staff noted shipping costs are rising and the office plans to begin charging an amount that reflects actual fuel surcharges rather than the previous flat $7 delivery fee.
The committee adopted a separate administrative motion to approve a multiple-amendments table and signaled that staff will draft a technical corrections bill for the 2027 session to address noncontroversial merges and cleanup.
