At its April 14 meeting the Fayette Board of Aldermen approved several bid awards and a large set of invoices and salary payments totaling $593,358.94.
Bids opened for a three-year farmland lease near the Fayette Water Treatment Plant returned a single bid of $1,000 per year from Mike Hustedde; the board rejected that bid and voted to re-advertise. For hay to be mowed and removed from the DC Rogers Lake area, the board received two bids and awarded the contract to Harry Marshall Dougherty at $4,306 per year. For mowing a portion of the southeast corner of the Fayette Cemetery the board approved a $984 per-year contract with Travis Wies and Son's Lawncare over lower per-service bids.
In financial business, Alderman Patrick Roll moved to approve Resolution #2026-08, which authorizes payment of invoices and salaries totaling $593,358.94 across funds (General Fund $230,870.41; Electric Fund $245,003.89; Water Fund $86,081.33; Sewer Fund $31,403.31). The motion passed unanimously.
Council members recorded standard motions to approve the engagement letter for KPM CPAs & Advisors for the 2023–25 audits and to present that engagement as part of the City’s audit plan. All procurement votes recorded in the minutes were unanimous (6–0).
