Alderman David Frees moved to approve Resolution 2026‑05 to pay invoices and salaries totaling $464,817.66; Alderwoman Michelle Ishmael seconded and the motion passed 6‑0. The resolution lists the totals by fund as General $297,998.35, Electric $63,510.89, Water $74,600.34 and Sewer $28,708.08.
Separately, Alderman J.B. Waggoner moved to approve a supplemental agreement extending the end date on the MoDOT TAP‑9901(543) grant for sidewalk improvements on North Main Street and to place the corresponding ordinance on the next meeting agenda; that motion also passed unanimously. The board did not adopt the ordinance at the March 10 meeting but directed staff to add it to the next agenda for formal consideration.
Board members also instructed the mayor to form a committee to research relocating the Police Department, including budget, technology and safety considerations. The committee motion, moved by Alderman Grafton Cook and seconded by Alderwoman Michelle Ishmael, passed unanimously. Alderman Waggoner said planning and budget work should be part of the next fiscal‑year process.
The council approved four sewer‑waiver requests (510 N Church St, 303 S Park Ave, 301 Silvey St and 107 Olive St) after motions from Alderman J.B. Waggoner and seconds by Alderman Grafton Cook; each passed 6‑0. The board also heard a presentation of the Historic Downtown Fayette Commercial Improvement District’s proposed FY2027 budget; the CID treasurer noted the CID pays the city 2% of revenue under an administrative services agreement and invited comment at CID meetings and by email.
The meeting moved to closed session at 7:20 p.m., returned at 7:58 p.m., and adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
