Otoe County board approves increases to FSA limit, retains dependent care and continues BCBS coverage

Commissioner Cole moved to increase the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) annual limit to $3,400 for plan year 2026–27; Commissioner Freshman seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Cole later moved to retain the Dependent Care Plan through First Concord and set the limit to $7,500 for plan year 2026–27; Commissioner Crownover seconded; the board noted there has been no participation in recent years and said the benefit will be reviewed if unused.
Commissioner Freshman moved, Commissioner Cole seconded, to continue Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) health and dental coverage through the NACO pool using the $2,600 deductible plan; the board voted to continue the coverage because a rate-bidding process could not be completed in time for open enrollment. Commissioner Cole moved, Commissioner Parsons seconded, to approve an HRA deductible buydown through First Concord of $1,750 for single coverage and $3,500 for multi-party coverage; that motion carried unanimously.
All benefit-related motions recorded unanimous aye votes (Sornson, Freshman, Parsons, Crownover, Cole). The board did not take further action on these items during the meeting.
